One area of our Outreach Ministry at St. Leo’s which serves the southern part of Onondaga County and the northern part of Cortland County is the Fresh Foods Distribution. The Food Bank of CNY delivers fresh produce, dairy, and bread donated by area grocery stores for immediate distribution. The delivery is made to our church hall doors on the first Tuesday of the month from area grocers. We have volunteers on hand to unload the truck, sort the food and help distribute fresh, healthy food to anyone who would like to come to the church hall to pick up food for their families. Pick up time is 3pm – 5pm on the first Tues of the month. Fresh Foods distributions are open to all individuals in need of food. All food must be given away in a fair and non-discriminatory way. There is no fee or requirement to work in exchange for receiving food.
Leo’s Loaves is a bread baking ministry. Bread is available at the Food Pantry.
We also distribute Food Baskets for holidays and special occasions.
Additionally, we have a Giving Tree at Christmas time. We welcome donations to this wonderful ministry.
Each month we have Food $en$e order forms in the back of our church. Monthly Food $en$e packages are created by the Food Bank containing 10-12 items, including fresh fruits and vegetables, meats, and staple food items. Anyone wishing to stretch their food dollars can participate. The cost of the package is $20.50 and participants pre-pay with cash or EBT card. Food $en$e packages are available to participants at the end of each month.
Please check out the new Food $en$e form!
